At EarthMagic, we reduce the amount of glass in landfills by collecting and converting it into sand. All of our glass is processed and recycled into new products on site at our Virginia location. By donating your glass, you contribute to a more sustainable future and help reduce environmental impact.
You Can Make a Difference
Fifty billion tons of silica sand are used every year, including in cell phones, computer screens, and microchips. Of all the raw materials on Earth, only water is consumed more than sand. Sand is a limited commodity, and rising sea levels caused by climate change also contribute to the shortage. When you use recycled glass sand products or recycle your food and beverage glass, this:
Conserves natural resources, reduces energy consumption, and decreases greenhouse gas emissions.
Reduces landfill space, which is particularly crucial considering the slow decomposition rate of glass in landfills.

How to Donate Your Glass
We have bins in three locations in our area to make recycling easy!
We accept clean food and beverage glass. - please remove the tops and rinse the items. The labels can be removed - we really appreciate it - or left on. The glass must be clean and dry to protect our equipment and produce clean sand.
We cannot use some items such as bottles with limes or snuff, drinking glasses, empty candle containers, animal prescription bottles, and plate window glass.
Our Process
By recycling glass and using recycled glass, millions of pounds of waste are prevented from entering landfills. Recycling glass and buying recycled glass products is just common sense.
